Free Software to Download!!

This page gives links to software sites where all the software is FREE.  These are verified freeware sites NOT shareware, demos, time limited,  spyware, warez or cracked but fully working totally legal (for personal use) free software.  There are many potential sites but I have chosen ones that meet the criteria above and where it is easy to navigate without all the usual adverts and diversions.  If you want or need a piece of software to do something the odds are you will find a free version on one of these sites.  Obviously some of the collections below will contain duplicate entries but there is enough variation in them for me to recommend that they are all worth a visit.

Game Hippo - A games site.  Over 1000 games organised by type and an easy to use interface.  All freeware no shareware or demos.  Additional links there include AVG anti virus and Ad Aware plus other useful utilities.

Laninga - A nice, well graphically organised site.  A lot of graphics, may be slow loading. A large selection, and a very easy to use interface - well worth a visit.

Emm IE Freeware - A deceptively simple site. Plain text but very searchable.  All freeware give it a look.

Pegusis Freeware - A comprehensive listing, very large selection, but can be a bit slow and the redirects occasionally are a bit flaky.  Overall though still worth a visit.

 Jans Freeware - A collection of totally free utilities and applications - I especially liked Formatti, a program that lets you load edit and convert between many graphic formats including windows icon (.ico) files and Movie 12 a fully featured animated gif creator.

Pricelessware - An extremely large collection of utilities and applications.  Can be displayed alphabetically or by general type.  Very easy to use and navigate and totally free. Must be worth a visit.

Webattack - Another very large selection of utilities and applications - easy to navigate organised in categories.

Freeware World -  Over 10000 programs available to download and growing daily - sorted by category, with an excellent search facility, and easy to use.

No Bucks Freeware - Yet more free software - well organised - all software checked - no ad ware - no spy ware and a useful hints section.

Nonags - Exactly what is says - a very well organised freeware site without any nag screens.  Massive selection with new stuff highlighted and the rest sorted into easy to follow categories.

Winsite - A mixed Shareware / Freeware site.  This link takes you to the Freeware section. Note if you want to learn to play bridge download Easy Bridge here. Just go to the site and search it for Easy Bridge - Its configurable - easy - good and FREE.

Moochers A growing site with an impressive selection of totally free software regularly updated.  A nice easy to use graphical interface. The popup adds can be an irritation when you first visit but the free software is worth the minor inconvenience.

F.S.D. - Free Software Downloads - A large collection of totally free software sorted into categories and very easy to use.

I rarely suggest a single company but this must be an exception.  Here you can download  PhotoPlus 5.5 - Photo Image Editor, DrawPlus 4 - Vector Drawing Program, 3DPlus 2 - 3D Graphics Program, PagePlus - Desk Top Publisher, WebPlus 6 - Web Design Package, plus all the add-ons like wizards and fonts.  All professional quality fully working software and all FREE.  The downloads are all large, (between 6 and 12 megabytes each), so you might wish to use a download manager, or, (if you can spare a few pounds), you can take up one of their offers, and by just paying postage, (in the UK only), have the software sent to your door on CD.   Serif make previous versions of their software available as freeware. You must visit this site if you have an interest in any of those applications.
